Tractors were first manufactured under the name Massey Ferguson in 1958. The companies, which merged into the Massey Ferguson Company in 1953, had already been producing very successful tractors of their own under different names before the fusion. It was made up of Harry Ferguson Limited and Massey-Harris Company Limited.
