The 2002 Fendt 818 Vario TMS was inspired by the Fendt Favorit 818. The characteristic square bonnet of the previous model was somewhat rounded during the renovations and hence became, in addition to modernised technology, a contemporary design. Also, the cruise control option maintains a constant preselected speed, thereby also increasing the usability of the tractor. The maximum speed on the field is 28 km/h on the road, and has the potential of reaching up to 50 km/h. With all-wheel drive and differential lock automatic all-wheel drive, locks will automatically switch on or off depending on the steering angle and speed. In 2006 the 800 series was revised once again, to update engine model and horsepower. Despite the larger displacement, however, horsepower dropped by 10.
